Browser and device compatibility
Supported Browsers
WeFile is built using modern web standards. For the best experience and highest security, we officially support the latest versions of Google Chrome, Apple Safari, Mozilla Firefox, and Microsoft Edge.
Older Browsers
We do not support Internet Explorer or very old versions of modern browsers. If you are using an outdated browser, the complex Javascript required to run the tax calculator and generate iXBRL may fail silently, preventing you from filing.
Desktop vs Mobile
While WeFile is fully responsive and can be accessed on mobile phones, we strongly recommend completing the filing wizard on a desktop or laptop computer. The large amount of data entry and financial review is significantly easier on a larger screen.
Clearing Cache
If you experience strange visual glitches or buttons failing to respond, it is often caused by a stale browser cache. Clearing your cache and cookies, or trying the process in an 'Incognito' or 'Private Browsing' window, will usually resolve these issues immediately.
