Accessibility Statement

Last updated: April 2026

1. Introduction

At WeFile, we are committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards to our platform at wefile.co.uk.

Tax filing is a critical business process, and we believe our software should be usable by all directors and legally authorised representatives, regardless of their abilities or the assistive technologies they may use.

2. Conformance Status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.

WeFile is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard. We are actively working to address these areas and bring all areas of the platform up to full conformance.

3. Accessible Features

We have designed our platform with the following accessibility features in mind:

  • Keyboard Navigation: The application can be navigated using only a keyboard. All interactive elements, such as form inputs and buttons, are reachable and usable via standard keyboard controls.
  • Screen Reader Support: We use semantic HTML and ARIA (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) attributes to ensure that screen readers can accurately interpret and read the content of our pages, particularly within our complex filing wizards.
  • Colour Contrast: Our calming color palette ("British Racing Teal" and off-whites) has been specifically chosen and tested to ensure text meets the WCAG 2.1 AA minimum contrast ratios against its background, reducing eye strain and improving legibility.
  • Responsive Design: The platform is fully responsive and supports zooming up to 200% without loss of content or functionality. It adapts seamlessly to both desktop and mobile devices.
  • Focus Indicators: Distinct, highly visible focus rings are present on all interactive elements to help keyboard users understand where they are on the page.
  • Hyper-Legible Typography: We use accessible, modern fonts ('Outfit' and 'DM Sans') with generous line spacing to aid readability.

4. Known Limitations

Despite our best efforts to ensure accessibility of WeFile, there may be some limitations. Below is a description of known limitations. Please contact us if you observe an issue not listed below.

  • Third-party Integrations: Some payment processing overlays (provided by Stripe) or external identity verification tools may have minor accessibility limitations that are outside of our direct control.
  • Generated PDF Documents: Some automatically generated PDF records (such as completed CT600 forms) may not currently have full document tagging for screen readers. We are working on improving the accessibility of our PDF outputs.
