Setting up your WeFile account

Getting started with WeFile is designed to be as frictionless as possible. In just a few minutes, you can have your account ready to prepare and submit your first filing.

1. Create an Account

Start by navigating to our registration page. You can sign up using a standard email and password combination, or use Google Sign-in for faster access. Ensure you use an email address you check regularly, as we will send filing confirmations and important deadline reminders here. If using email, you will receive a verification link to confirm your address.

2. Secure Your Account

Once logged in, we highly recommend enabling Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) in your profile settings. Because you will be handling sensitive financial data and government credentials, 2FA adds an essential layer of security. We support any standard authenticator app.

3. Add Your Company

Navigate to the Companies section and click 'Add Company'. Our system connects directly to the Companies House database. Simply search for your company name or enter your 8-digit company number. We will automatically pull in your registered details, incorporation dates, and director information. Review this to ensure you have selected the correct entity.

4. Input Your Gateway Credentials

Before you can file, you will need to enter your HMRC Government Gateway ID and Companies House Authentication Code. You can do this immediately in the company settings, or wait until your first filing. These are stored securely using AES-256 encryption.

5. Explore the Dashboard

With your company added, your dashboard will populate. From here, you can start a new filing, review upcoming deadlines, and manage your account settings.
