Corporation tax already paid, repayments and bank details
If your company has already made tax payments for the accounting period, or if you are due a repayment, you can record this directly in WeFile to ensure your CT600 reflects your true liability.
Recording Tax Paid
You can enter any corporation tax already paid for the period (which maps to CT600 box 595). WeFile will automatically calculate whether you have tax outstanding (box 600) or tax overpaid (box 605) based on your final tax computation.
Repayment Claims
If you have an overpayment, you can trigger a formal repayment claim (box 865) to have HMRC refund the excess. Whenever a return shows a tax overpayment or a repayment claim, WeFile automatically ticks box 40 on the front page of the CT600 to notify HMRC that a repayment is due.
Bank Details
To ensure your repayment is processed quickly and securely, you can provide your designated bank details (account name, account number, and sort code). These map perfectly to CT600 boxes 920-940 and are fully validated against HMRC schemas.
Amendments and API Support
Your repayment claims and bank details are safely carried over if you need to file an amended return. Developers can supply this information programmatically via the `taxPaymentsData` API field.
