Shortened Accounting Periods on WeFile
WeFile fully supports shortened accounting periods, which typically occur when a company changes its Accounting Reference Date (ARD) with Companies House.
Here's how WeFile handles them:
- Automatic Sync: WeFile automatically retrieves your company's official accounting period dates directly from Companies House. If your period has been shortened, these new dates will be reflected in your dashboard under the company's filing periods.
- Standard Filing Process: You can proceed with filing your CT600 and annual accounts for a shortened period just as you would for a standard 12-month period. The multi-step wizard will guide you through the process.
- Proportional Calculations: Any calculations within WeFile, such as the Corporation Tax calculation, will automatically adjust for the shorter duration of the accounting period, applying any relevant relief proportionally.
Simply select the relevant shortened period from your company's available filing periods within the WeFile platform to begin your submission.
