What Is the AI Assistant?

The WeFile AI Assistant is a built-in conversational AI that you can access from the AI Assistant page in your dashboard sidebar. Think of it as having a knowledgeable filing advisor available 24/7 — one that already knows your company details, your filing history, and the current state of your returns.

Unlike generic AI chatbots, the WeFile AI Assistant is specifically trained on UK corporation tax rules, Companies House filing requirements, and the WeFile platform itself. It doesn't just give you textbook answers — it gives you answers in the context of your specific situation.

You can ask it anything from "What category should I put office supplies under?" to "Why is my corporation tax liability different from what I expected?" — and it will respond with a clear, actionable explanation tailored to your filing.

Every WeFile user gets 5 AI queries per month at no extra cost. This is ideal for occasional questions about your filing, quick tax concept lookups, or getting help with a specific balance sheet entry. Your free allowance resets on the 1st of each month.

AI Pro — £100/year

For accountants, bookkeepers, or anyone who relies on the assistant regularly, AI Pro unlocks a significantly higher allowance of 500 queries per month. AI Pro also includes:

  • Full conversation history — easily navigate back to past insights and complex discussions
  • Filing context analysis — in-depth AI review matching directly against your specific company filings
  • Priority response — lowest latency and priority queue access to advanced models

You can subscribe to AI Pro from the AI Assistant page in your dashboard. Payment is handled securely via Stripe, and your subscription runs for 12 months from the date of purchase.

Whether you're on the free tier or AI Pro, the assistant delivers the same high-quality, context-aware responses — AI Pro simply gives you more room to use it.

Conversation History

Every conversation you have with the AI Assistant is automatically saved. You can return to previous conversations at any time, pick up where you left off, or start a fresh chat for a new topic.

This is particularly useful during filing season — you might have one conversation about your profit and loss categorisation, another about a specific CT600 box, and a third about your balance sheet. All of them are preserved and easy to find in your conversation list.

You can also delete conversations you no longer need, keeping your workspace tidy and organised.

Privacy and Security

We take your data seriously. The AI Assistant operates within WeFile's secure infrastructure, and your conversations are completely private to your account. Here's what you should know:

  • The assistant only accesses the data it needs to answer your specific question
  • All communication is encrypted in transit and at rest
  • Your filing data is never shared with third parties
  • Conversations are not used to train external AI models
  • Team members cannot see each other's AI conversations
